The Yeppoon Choral Society is a busy, versatile and
dynamic community organization, and new members are always
welcomed. A trained voice is not a pre-requisite, but a love
for music and theatre is.
The Yeppoon Choral Society was formed as a community
choir in 1964.
The first major production was Oklahoma in 1965.
a. To provide quality entertainment for
the local community
b. To encourage and support developing
musicians and actors. Regular vocal workshops are held and
ongoing help provided throughout the year’s activities.
A yearly bursary in memory of past president, the late Lt.
Col. Tom Wahlin Retired, is presented for school choral
excellence at the Rockhampton Eisteddfod.
c. To provide, in return for community
support, substantial donations from charity concerts to
local charitable organisations.
d. To provide support to other
organisations when requested. (eg. RSL ANZAC Day

24th July
10am Uniting Church, Lorikeet Avenue, Yeppoon
in preparation for the performance of Messiah on
Sunday 25th July at Sacred Heart Church, Lammermoor.
A fully illustrated lecture about the story of Handel's Messiah and
the Yeppoon Messiah Project, given by Nigel Bates and
Amanda O'Brien, respectively Music Director and Vocal
Director of the Project, being hosted by Yeppoon Choral
Society Inc.
$15 including morning tea. Tickets available

Bookshop, Yeppoon.
Sunday 25th July
2pm open workshop rehearsal of Messiah at
Sacred Heart Church, Tabor Drive, Lammermoor
$10 tickets at the door or in advance from The Yellow
Door Bookshop, Yeppoon.
7pm performance of Handel's Messiah at
Sacred Heart Church, Tabor Drive, Lammermoor.
Hosted by the Yeppoon Choral Society Inc, with other
singers from across the region including
Voices of Capricorn, Unisong, St Brendans College and St
Ursula's College.
Accompanied by the professional CQ Strings ensemble, the
Yeppoon Community Orchestra
and members of Rockhampton City Brass and
Capricornia Silver Band.
Soloists : Amanda O'Brien, Nola Smith, Alix Lee, Grant
Pegg, Riley Griffin and Levi Burrows.
Conducted by Nigel Bates.
